Knowing God Is Better Than Life

Knowing God is truly better than life itself. I can think of nothing else in all my life that would be of greater value than knowing God. Not just knowing about Him, but knowing Him personally. Paul said it this way,

“But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ. More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ—the righteousness from God based on faith.” Philippians 3:7-9 (CSB)

I pray that today you will honor God with your life because you know Him personally. There is eternal value in knowing Him. Nothing else in all the world can even come close. The next time you sing the song “Better Than Life” I hope you can honestly say that knowing Jesus is truly better than life.
