One of the privileges of ministering in the local church for any significant length of time is meeting and encouraging ministers and believers from other congregations. I get to enjoy this privilege this week as I lead worship for the junior high student ministry of Hillcrest Baptist Church at their summer youth camp in Panama City Beach Florida. The theme of the camp is: "Taking Off the Mask: A Call to Authenticity".
I boldly ask you to pray for these students and adults as they seek the Lord together. Pray for me as well, that I will be led by the Spirit and lead with authenticity. Youth camps often become major spiritual markers in the life of students and adults alike. The enemy would like nothing more than to totally destroy the effectiveness of such a camp. Pray that students will hear the voice of the Savior and not become distracted by the things of this world.
I look forward to sharing with you what God is doing in my life and in the lives of these students and adults throughout the week.
"But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:16-18)
