Looking Ahead to Your Reward

Today's full reading: Hebrews 11:17-31

"By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward." (Hebrews 11:24-26 NIV)

The eyes of faith see what is otherwise totally invisible. Hebrews eleven captures many pivotal moments when the nation of Israel demonstrated what it means to walk by faith and not by sight.

Today, as an act of worship, thank God for preserving such a great legacy of faith through his church that we can learn from. As you read the Faith Hall of Fame (Hebrews 11) ask yourself, "Would I have done that? Is my faith that strong?" Ask God to reinforce your faith as you commit to obey his word no matter what.
