Love, Obedience, and Grace

Today's full reading: 1 John 5:1-21

"This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." (1 John 5:3-4 NIV)

The authenticity of our love for God is systematically evaluated by the measure of our obedience. That being said, now consider this: partial obedience is disobedience. One cannot be a follower without truly following.

Today, as an act of worship, take a fresh look in the at the standards in God's Word. Die to yourself and live for Him. Praise God for His marvelous grace - that we desperately need.

Verse 1
Marvelous Grace of our loving Lord
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured
There where the Blood of the Lamb was spilt

Chorus
Grace Grace God's Grace
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace Grace God's Grace
Grace that is greater than all our sin

Verse 2
Sin and despair like the sea waves cold
Threaten the soul with infinite loss
Grace that is greater yes Grace untold
Points to the refuge the mighty Cross

Verse 3
Dark is the stain that we cannot hide
What can avail to wash it away
Look there is flowing a crimson tide
Whiter than snow you may be today

Verse 4
Marvelous infinite matchless Grace
Freely bestowed on all who believe
You that are longing to see His Face
Will you this moment His Grace receive
