Worthy is the Lamb

Today's full reading: Revelation 5:1-14

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.

(Revelation 5:11-14 NIV)

Another powerful picture of unashamed unhindered worship is found here in Revelation chapter five. I encourage you to read it again and feel the weight and significance to the worship that is being offered to the Lamb. Christ, the Messiah of God, the promised child, the perfect sacrifice, is the only one worthy of our worship.

Today, as an act of worship, pray these ancient/future words of worship back to God. Offer them perhaps as an echo to the worship that John experienced while in the Spirit in the presence of the Lord. Make the prayer personal by proclaiming the attributes of God that are particularly meaningful to you in this stage of your life. Remember: He IS WORTHY!

This scripture reminds me of the song "Worthy is the Lamb" by Darlene Zschech. I hope you enjoy the video below.
