When Jesus called His first followers they were just normal fisherman hard at work. Undoubtedly many of them had busy lives with jobs, families, and agendas. But, when Jesus called them they answered with a simple act of immediate obedience.
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed Him." Matthew 4:19-20 (NIV)
We cannot be sure what they were thinking in those early days, but none the less their immediate obedience is unmistakably remarkable. Today, as you seek the Lord through His word may your response be the same as the first followers - immediate obedience.
