Does God Really Care About the Way I Live?

Repentance is a fancy word often used to describe what a person must do when they follow Jesus. It simply means to turn from sin. You cannot continue to live in habitual sin and follow Jesus. The Bible says, "Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God." Romans 8:8 (NIV) Instead we should, "throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles us." Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

Today as a part of your personal time of worship I pray that you will practice true repentance. Ask the Lord to show you any area of sin that you are living in and/or struggling with. Once you know what sin is in your life it is up to you to confess that to God. Confession is the process of agreeing with God. Then with His help, through the Holy Spirit, turn away from that sin and live differently.

Jesus is a friend of sinners. He cares about you and me, and wants what is best for us. Remember you cannot clean up your act on your own. You need help. You need a friend. You need Jesus!
