Part of living for Jesus is controlling what we say. Our words are very powerful. If you disagree, just consider the President giving a speech, a military commander motivating an army, and a pastor commissioning a ministry. Words are very powerful they stir our hearts and challenge our minds. They build us up and tear us down.
The Bible gives us a firm instruction about what comes out of our mouths. It says in Ephesians 4:29, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Receive this strong word today as you carefully weigh each and every word that you speak. Think before you speak, because you cannot retract words once they have been spoken. The damage has been done.
