Today's full reading: 1 Corinthians 15:1-28
"By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve." (1 Corinthians 15:2-5 NIV)
The first six words of verse two have true eternal significance. "By this gospel you are saved," convey such heavy truth it is staggering. Imagine for a moment that you re about to hear a message that has the power to impact you in such a way that your eternal destiny is at stake. This is how Paul chose to qualify what he was about to communicate.
Today, as an act of worship, thank God for the "good news" that a way has been made through the sacrifice and resurrection of his son, Jesus Christ, to save all who will believe. As you praise him for his work of regeneration in the heart of every true believer, ask him for divine opportunities to share this gospel with lost souls.
