Today's full reading: Ephesians 3:1-21
"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:16-19 NIV)
It is particularly interesting that Paul uses the word power so many times in this chapter of scripture. Paul has a deep faith in Christ and a sincere love for others. His passion to make much of Christ drove him to pray some bold prayers for the church like the one above.
Take a moment today to grasp the meaning of what he is praying for the Christ followers in Ephesus. He is praying that they may have power through the spirit in such a way that Christ may truly dwell within each of them and that they may have power to grasp the great love of God and be filled with the fullness of God. I want to echo Paul's prayer for you and me.
Today, as an act of worship, may we enter boldly into the Lord's presence and ask him to full us with his Spirit and reveal to us the depth of his love for us.
