Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:4-8 NIV)
Each day we spend in God's word a change begins taking place in our hearts. It may a subtle change at first, but ultimately Christ receives us as we are but refuses to leave us that way; he want our lives to reflect his life. These words of instruction from Philippians chapter four speak for themselves. There is very little if any commentary needed to fully understand them. I hope you will take a moment to read them again slowly and consider the life changing implications they have for you.
Today, as an act of worship, thank God for his faithful word to us. Praise him that he is in control and wants to ease our anxieties. Rejoice! Today is a new day; yesterday is in the past; tomorrow may never come. Make the most of every opportunity.
