"See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first." (Hebrews 3:12-14 NIV)
In order to obey these verses we must be proactive in forming and maintaining healthy Christian relationships. The word clearly says to encourage one another daily. That being the case, we all know how difficult it can be to receive encouragement and/or rebuke from someone with whom we have no real relationship.
Today, as an act of worship, praise God for the people in your life that you are closest to. Seek to honor the Lord by faithfully encouraging them in the faith - to live lives that honor the Lord in all things. If you see that God has put someone in your life that needs your support and/or correction seek to build a relationship with them, and as it blossoms offer yourself to them as the Lord desires.
"It's never a good idea to start a relationship with a rebuke!" - Elaine Price
