Saturday's full reading: Hebrews 12:14-29
"Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." (Hebrews 12:14-15 NIV)
As we read scripture each day, God reveals his commands to us more and more. His commands are all part of his perfect plan for our lives. They are meant ultimately for his glory and our good. And, today we read that we are commanded to make every effort to be holy. We can be sure of this: his law is perfect, his statutes are trustworthy, his precepts are right, his commands are radiant, and his ordinances are sure. (See Psalm 19:7-11)
Today, as an act of worship, praise God for his perfect word. Commit all your ways to him. Follow his word that is may guide you into all holiness (completely separated unto Him.)
