Today's full reading: Hebrews 13:1-25
"Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." (Hebrews 13:3 NIV)
It is by the grace of God and the perseverance and sacrifice of many men and women that we have received the Word and knowledge of Jesus Christ our great Savior. As if this simple truth were not enough to cause us to minister to those in prison, we who have trusted in Christ have also received the full pardon for our sins and are no longer a slave to that which is contrary to the Spirit. We have been set free from our captivity. Many around the world suffer for the cause of Christ.
Today, as an act of worship, offer thanksgiving to God for the circumstances and situation you find yourself living in today. Intercede for those in prison for the faith. Pray that their captors, those living in darkness, will see the true Light and come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Thus their suffering will not be in vain.
