"They held harps given them by God and sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb:
'Great and marvelous are your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
King of the ages.
Who will not fear you, O Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.'"
(Revelation 15:2-4 NIV)
In today's short reading we hear the song of "those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name." (Revelation 15:2) It is a truly beautiful image to imagine - those who have suffered and stood strong for Christ and have been victorious and are now giving all honor and credit to Him to whom it is due, Jesus Christ.
One of my favorite CDs is Glory Revealed, the Word of God and worship. The project is a compilation of scripture songs that were written specifically for this project. One song is called "You Alone"; it is based on this passage.
Today, as an act of worship, I pray you will join me in offering a song of worship to the Lord based on this passage. His deeds are truly great and marvelous. And, we can honestly say to him, "You alone are holy!"
I found the You Alone on Youtube with a nice video of nature shots. I hope you will use it to worship the Lord sometime in your busy day. Have a wonderful Christmas Eve.
