Today's full One Year Bible readings:
Numbers 28:16-29:40 ~ Luke 3:23-38 ~ Psalm 62:1-12 ~ Proverbs 11:18-19
Psalm 62 is a great help to worshiper as it add perspective and encouragement to the heart of the individual. While some worship songs are written TO God, others are written ABOUT God. They contribute greatly to the affirmation of the worshiper and help to motivate them to carry on.
Psalm 62 is just such an example saying, "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:5-8)
Today, as an act of worship, find rest in God alone. Remind yourself of His wonderful attributes. Worship in His presence!

LONGING (Psalm 61)
Today's full One Year Bible readings:
Numbers 26:52-28:15 ~ Luke 3:1-22 ~ Psalm 61:1-8 ~ Proverbs 11:16-17
Psalm 61 reveals what I think is an extremely important motive in David heart and sets him apart from worshiping believers. I suppose you don't get the title of, "Man after God's own heart" without it.
In verse four David writes, "I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings." (Psalm 61:4)
It is significant to note that David had an deep longing for God in his heart. He desired God above all else. To him, there was nothing more satisfying than being with and honoring the Lord.
Today, as an act of worship, gauge your own heart for God. Do you truly desire Him more than anything else? Are driven by a longing for His very presence? Draw near to Him in worship today!
