Deuteronomy 9:1-10:22 ~ Luke 8:4-21 ~ Psalm 69:19-36 ~ Proverbs 12:2-3
The later part of Psalm 69 makes a strong point for every believer who desires to bring authentic worship to the LORD. God is more interested in our heart and attitude than our stuff.
30 I will praise God's name in song
and glorify him with thanksgiving.31 This will please the LORD more than an ox,
Psalm 69:30-31
more than a bull with its horns and hoofs.
It is easier said than applied and believed. Humanity seems to prefer having a checklist of things to do and not-to-do. We easily gravitate toward legalism, missing the whole change of heart thing. Frankly, it is easier to go through the motions of worshiping God, than to actually worship God!
Today, as an act of worship, take time to offer God sincere gratitude and praise. He is SO worthy!
When I get to heaven and truly behold the one whom I have worshiped all these years, I'll probably say to myself, "I should have thought bigger!"
