Do Not Indulge The Sinful Nature

Today's full reading: Galatians 5:13-26

"You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love." (Galatians 5:13 NIV)

The later part of Galatians chapter five clearly identifies our human dilemma. Take a moment today and ask the Lord to show you the things in your life that are lingering from your old sinful nature. Remember that Christ died to set us free from sin.

Today, as an act of worship, praise God for his Spirit who empowers us to live a life of "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (Galatians 5:22-23)
