Today's full reading: Galatians 5:1-12
"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." (Galatians 5:6 NIV)
I love Galatians chapter five. The opening verse is so refreshing to read. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1) We all need to be reminded of how this truth impacts our natural tendency to focus on rules like those found in the old testament. Christ died to set us free from the old law, and now he has called us to live a life based on Christ-like principles. Imagine how Jesus acted toward other people. We should love like that.
Today, as an act of worship, express your love for God by loving others. Ask God to show you someone who needs your friendship in a very special way.
