Drink Deeply

Today's full reading: Hebrews 6:1-20

"Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so." (Hebrews 6:1-3 NIV)

This is exactly what I hope and pray for, both for myself and the men whom I disciple and who disciple me, that we will "leave the elementary teaching about Christ and go on to maturity...And God permitting, we will do so."

This is the day that the Lord has made, and today is a golden opportunity for each person reading this post to take one more step toward God. Take time today, as an act of worship, to thank God for teaching you his truth. Press on, persevere, and persist in that teaching, yet don't settle or stop learning, but dive deep into God's word and prayer. Drink deeply of the fountain of life that flows from his Word and his presence.
