Leviticus 14:1-57 ~ Mark 6:30-56 ~ Psalm 40:1-10 ~ Proverbs 10:11-12
In Psalm 40:1-10 we read how David praised God for saving him - lifting him out of a pit and placing him on a solid foundation. After that, David says that God gave him a song, but not just any song - an evangelistic praise song.
It's encouraging to read how God used music to minister to the needs of others. I love how David says (prophetically) that the "new song" of God's faithfulness will lead others back to God.
1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.
Today, as an act of worship, think of all the things you could and should be thankful for; offer them back to the Lord as expressions of God's love and faithfulness. He is worthy of all our praise!
