Deuteronomy 13:1-15:23 ~ Luke 8:40-9:6 ~ Psalm 71:1-24 ~ Proverbs 12:5-7
The last ten verses of Psalm 71 strike me as one of the most refreshing "senior adult" prayers I have ever witnessed.
The longer I live the more I experience, and the more I realize I still have to learn. I can remember sitting on a porch swing with my grandfather for hours and hours listening to stories of his life experiences. Each one was more fascinating than the one before. Not until now am I beginning to truly appreciate the time and effort he put into recounting those memories to me.
16 I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign LORD;
I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.17 Since my youth, O God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.18 Even when I am old and gray,
Psalm 71:16-18
do not forsake me, O God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your might to all who are to come.
Today, as an act of worship, recount what the Lord has done for you. Share your stories with someone specifically; only time will tell the true impact your legacy will leave.
"Give yourself to His word and gospel and calling, and you will find His story is remarkable. Your story will become a novel and it will be an amazing read."
